This is part of a new venture that was started in 2024 and is set for completion early 2026. It has kindly been supported by Pen Bryn Oer Wind Farm Community Fund who have funded the initial start up of this.

In an innovative and environmentally friendly initiative, "The Community Fresh Water Experience" seeks to transform the Cardi pond from not just an angling pond but also to rear fish for re-stocking for other community projects and sale (Once all Health check certificates in place). This project stands out in the area as a pioneering effort, aiming to engage the community, particularly the younger generation, in understanding and nurturing the local ecosystem. The initiative not only contributes to reducing our carbon footprint by eliminating the need for external stock deliveries but also fosters a deeper connection with nature among participants.

Cardi Pond as a Rearing Pond

Cardi pond, with its natural resources and suitable habitat, presents an ideal location for rearing fish. This transformation from just an angling pond into a rear pond is a first for the area, marking a significant step towards sustainability and the support of angling as a whole.
